Rollingwood Estate

A full-property redesign spanning a new motor court, a working kitchen garden, and a series of connected outdoor rooms.

This project began as a request to redo a failing front lawn, and grew into a full-property plan once the clients saw what was possible for the rest of the lot. The front of the property now centers on a gravel motor court framed by clipped yaupon holly, replacing turf that had struggled for years under a dense tree canopy.

Behind the house, we organized the property into a sequence of distinct outdoor rooms: a dining terrace directly off the kitchen, a raised-bed kitchen garden the clients manage themselves, and a more naturalistic lawn and meadow area toward the rear boundary, seeded with a mix of native wildflowers and little bluestem.

Construction was phased over roughly ten months to manage both budget and the disruption to a family still living on site, starting with the motor court and moving toward the rear meadow last.

Planning a Full-Property Redesign?

Projects like this usually start small and grow once the possibilities become clear. We're happy to talk through either scope.
